This American flag (Betsy Ross) was drawn in first grade by my late daughter, Mona Daniella, who died suddenly and in a tragic way. Mona Daniella loved America, and she was proud to be an American. She was proud of her grandfather's Purple Medal (World War II), she was proud of how from a penniless peddler he had started a family business after the war, and had succeeded by working very hard. We are still a family owned company, (now a minority business woman owned.) Mona Daniella believed that women should have the same opportunities as men.
At the time one of her friends had sent us this quote:
"When a child loses their parents they become an orphan, when a woman loses her husband she becomes a widow, when a husband loses his wife, he becomes a widower but there is no word for when parents lose a child. Probably because there is no word to explain the amount of pain for the parents to go through after the loss. That's how awful the loss is." - Jay Neugeboren
So true. She is missed every second of the day. This is my first post since Mona Daniella's untimely death; and it is in her memory.
