Exacta Garment would like to take a moment to stand with our customers in Florida that have been touched by the senseless act of violence, and terrorism in Orlando on Sunday morning. We pray that you, your family, loved ones and associates are safe.
For all of the people that are feeling loss and grief we pray for comfort and healing. No words can express how our collective heart, hurts for all of you. Know that you are not alone in your sadness. We are standing with you.
New York's Garment Center was bustling, warehouses were packed with employees, most immigrants, who came to America in search of fortune, and ran away from persecution. Most garments were hand made, the whole world came to New York to buy garments, and fabric. There were many small companies then, many brands which no longer exist. There were entire buildings with wholesalers of the same category. Built 62 years ago, 112 West 34th was originally known as the Childrenswear Building, with businesses and showrooms in the garment industry. Buyers could come and shop the lines of different brands, from the same category. The 4th floor had reps for small manufacturers from all over. It's all gone. That building is no longer the Childrenswear building. Today, it still has some clothing wholesaler - corporate headquarters of bigger companies, but it also has a mix of other businesses, like travel agencies, other businesses, and nonprofit groups. The building no longer looks the same, as its entire facade has been redone e few years ago. There is very little of history left of that building.

Manhattan, New York, was once the heart of the fashion universe. That neighborhood is called the Garment District. It used to be full of wholesalers, people used to come from the entire world to buy garments, fabrics, and accessories in America.
It was the most important garment manufacturing center in USA. Immigrants from all over the world started their first jobs in the Garment Center. Men and women worked the assembly lines. Today, most of those warehouses have been sold as lofts, as the neighborhood has been rezoned. Some warehouses have been converted into offices. They are beautiful buildings, with tall ceilings.
Computerized Cutting is the most precise way the cut garment, fabrics, and others materials. It eliminates mistakes made when cutting by hand. The materials are cut accurately and precisely. Complex patterns which would have almost been impossible to be cut by hand, besides the time it would have taken are cut in a short period of time. At Exacta Garment we use the state of the art Gerber Cutter cutting machines.
